Abstract

This research aims to understand the Ethnography of Communication in the Hamlet Alms tradition in Genengan Hamlet, Jerukpurut Village, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency. The Dusun Almsgiving tradition in Genengan Hamlet 
is a cultural tradition that has been preserved from generation to generation from ancestors, which has artistic significance in the Dusun Almsgiving 
tradition. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the Communication Ethnography method to find out the meaning of art 
in the Sedekah Dusun tradition. Data mining by observing research locations, interviews with informants and documentation. The results of the study show that the Sedekah Dusun tradition in Dusun Genengan uses four languages in its implementation, namely Indonesian, Javanese, Madurese, and Arabic, as well as non-verbal language. The Sedekah Dusun event includes Kenduren, Ancak, Ujung, and Ludruk, each reflecting the cultural and spiritual richness of the 
community, strengthening cultural identity, and disseminating cultural values. The purposes of this event include expressing gratitude, sharing among 
people, and preserving the tradition. This tradition is a ritual that symbolizes gratitude to God for the blessings given
