Abstract: Strengthening Cultural Identity Through the Interpretation of Traditional Symbols in Ruwatan Practices of the Dusun Manggihan Community investigates the preservation of culture and cultural identity of Dusun Manggihan through traditional symbols in the ruwatan. In the era of globalization, the practice of ruwatan has become important to strengthen cultural identity. Ruwatan uses symbols such as banana leaves, flowers and incense to symbolize purity, as well as mantras that hold local wisdom values, helping to keep this tradition relevant. This study also discusses the challenges faced by ruwatan in modern times, including the influence of globalization which can shift traditional practices. To overcome this, the Dusun Manggihan community integrated modern elements in organizing ruwatan without eliminating traditional values. These efforts include education and cultural awareness as the main strategies in cultural preservation. The research method used is qualitative with afocus on traditional symbols. Researchers conducted interviews and direct observations in Manggihan Hamlet. The aim is to dig deeper into the role of traditional symbols in cultural preservation and how this influences cultural identity and the sustainability of the ruwatan tradition
